It is officially Spring Break! YAY! That means it's also the beginning of the end of the school year, and I have a week to relax. Or a week to move furniture while my brother lays carpet in my entire upstairs, but whatever works.
After school today, I went up to the mall and purchased my new pair of running shoes! I figured if I was running 10 miles I should have a nice pair of shoes. Not to mention it gets me excited about running tomorrow.
Tomorrow morning I begin my training! I read the book, and it expected me to run 30 miles the first day without stopping. Since I cannot do that, I back tracked a little in the book, and am starting with something a little easier - running for 15 minutes without stopping, resting for 3 minutes, and then another 15. I figured I could do that at least! Wish me luck!

What kind of shoes did you get? You should concentrate on mileage instead of time. Since your probably just trying to finish the race you have to continually ramp up your mileage each week leading up to the race. The run for 15 then rest isn't what the race will be like. Are you going to sit down and rest during the race? Depending on how much you have been running lately, I would shoot for 2 miles non-stop...if you have to walk that's ok but keep moving. You could keep track of your mileage on your blog. Keep a track of your time to figure out your pace.
Once you get your mileage up and your body gets used to exercising for that long you can start working on increasing your pace.
Anyway, that's just a little advice. You can do it. I use mapmyrun.com to keep track of my runs.
Kel it sounds like you have a personal coach...
