BIG THINGS

So just when I thought I would get back into the swing of blogging, once again it will be disrupted. Our house was rented! We still have to sign the contract, but I am so sure of it I have started packing. That means that we will be moving in with my parents (gasp! - Don't worry, we all get along great, seriously!) and then we will BEGIN BUILDING OUR HOUSE!! YAY!

I am so excited, but I really wish we could just move into it. These next 8 months are going to be long. I am not excited about packing, or doing it in ONE WEEK. Yes, that's right. We have until July 1. So much for the nice notice! Oh well. Luckily Michael comes home from school tomorrow so he can help!

One thing I am NOT looking forward to is parting with our one dog and two cats :( Rocky is coming with us to my parents house because he just can't part with Momma :). The other three are going to Michael's parents because my poor Dad would die of an allergic reaction if we had all of them there. I just hope they adjust ok. Titan will be just fine, but the cats I worry about. I just hope our construction company builds fast so I don't have to worry about it.

So for the next week you won't hear from me. Hopefully after that there will be many house updates and Patrick updates! Wish us luck!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Today I turn the big 2-7. I have dreaded this birthday for awhile. I don't know why but I feel like 27 just sounds so old! I am sure I will look back on 27 and wonder what I was worried about!

This past year has been absolutely amazing. I am now a Mom to the most amazing little boy. Everytime I look at him I just can't believe that I grew him inside of me! He is almost 3 months old, and the time is just flying,

I am truly blessed in every aspect of my life. I have an amazing husband, who puts up with my hormonal rants :), and a roof over my head and a wonderful job. I look forward to seeing what the next year holds!

As for today, it will be low key. Michael is still away at school, and Patrick celebrated my birthday last night by being up every three hours, On top of that, I was sick! Let me tell you, being a single parent and SICK is not a good combination. I am feeling a little better today after getting some food into me so that is good! I plan on relaxing on the couch, playing with little man and napping when he does. Sounds like a great birthday to me!

Long Time No Post...

There has been a lack of blogging around here, but hopefully this will change in the next few weeks! School is officially out for summer! YAY! All 47 of my boxes were moved out of my very first classroom last week and into the new elementary school in our district. The school is gorgeous! Of course now I have to upack all 48 of these boxes, but I can't do that until later in the summer when the building is cleared for occupancy. I will have to take a picture of all the boxes then! I thought I had a lot but the teacher down the hall had 90, and a teacher from another building had 105! WOW!

This weekend we successfully pulled off a surprise 25th anniversary party for my inlaws. My mother in law thought I was traveling to visit Michael at his school that his attending for the Guard, so needless to say she was shocked when she walked in to see all of her family, friends and Michael and I! I will post pictures tomorrow!

Today is Michael's FIRST Father's Day. Unfortunately he had to leave bright and early to head back to school. At least he will be home on Friday. We were able to give him his present last night, a frame from Patrick and Phillies tickets from me! I can't wait to go to the game!

I hope everyone out there has a wonderful Father's day and weekend! In the next week I plan on beginning my summer job - getting a tan!

Weekend of Firsts

Friday marked the LAST day of school for our students! As much as these kids drove me crazy this year, I am going to miss them a little. I have to say, I am so glad I had maternity leave because I just don't think I could have made it all year with them. There were a few that really tried my patience and made me question how I was going to get through the year. Ah well, I guess every teacher has those students right? Even though school isn't even out for teachers yet, I am finding myself looking forward to next year. The 47 boxes I have packed for the new school have been moved out of my room and will be moved to my new school this week. It is so exciting to see the wonderful technology and nice clean and new classroom. I. Love. It. I can't wait to start unpacking and making it my classroom! Check in when I am halfway through those 47 boxes, I may have changed my mind! :)

Friday also marked the first time Patrick was in the pool! My parents opened their pool the week after Memorial Day this year. Since my only job this summer is to get a tan, I decided to start on Friday since it has been GORGEOUS out. The pool is already 86 degrees. The black cover probably helped that! Patrick was taking a nap when we got there, so I went in and let little man sleep. A little while later he was awake and Mom brought him out in just his diaper and cute little hat. He wasn't a big fan for the first 30 seconds, but then he loved it. He went in again today and didn't cry at all. Of course all of the picture are on my Mom's camera. I will get them tomorrow hopefully and get them posted. She took some really good ones!

Saturday was the first time someone said Patrick looks just like his Momma! YAY! Everyone that sees him says he looks just like his Dad. I seriously couldn't tell you. Michael thinks he has my eyes. I think we have to wait until he is a little bigger. We returned a power washer to a friend and got a chance to introduce them to Patrick. Right away, our friend said he has Michael's nose but everything else looks like me. I am still skeptical, but I'll take it!

Last night, Patrick slept from 10:00 pm until 5:00 this morning, making it the first time he slept through the night. Personally, sleeping through the night to me means until at least 7:00am, but according to BabyCenter.com it means from 11:00 until 5:00. Either way, I will take it! I was able to feed him at 5:00, play a little bit, and then go back down from 6:45 until 9:00. Have I mentioned what a good baby he is? We are spoiled!

Today, Michael left for his last two weeks of school for his Captain's Career Course, marking the first time he has had to leave Patrick overnight. I feel bad for him :( It's always hard to be away from home regardless and now with little man, I'm sure it's even harder. I know I wouldn't be able to do it! Of course, two weeks is always better than a year in Iraq :) Here's to hoping the two weeks goes by fast!

Big Man!

We had our two month appointment for Patrick today! Our big man is now 11 pounds 11 ounces and 23 inches long. He jumped from the 25th percentile to the 50th! What a growing boy. The Doc was very impressed with his growth. He also got two shots and an oral vaccine. I was dreading this part, but he did pretty good. He cried, but soon after I picked him up he stopped crying. What a good baby! It still broke my heart to see him in pain :( We go back in two months for his four month well visit. I can't wait to see how much he has grown by then!

The last day of school for students is tomorrow! I cannot tell you how happy this makes me :) I am one tired Momma between packing and getting up with Patrick at night (although he is sleeping pretty good!) I am happy to say I have moved back to sleeping in bed, so that is good. Of course if Patrick makes any noise for an extended amount of time (even happy noises) I have to go upstairs because Michael can't stand having him make noise. In fact, last night, Michael TOLD me to go upstairs. He doesn't remember this, but I do. Oh, and who is the one taking a nap right not. One guess and it's not me. NICE. Tomorrow is his birthday though, so I guess I can't be too hard on him.

So Busy!

Things have been so busy around here lately. School is ending for students this week...Friday is their last day and it's a half day! It has been hard trying to keep them contained this week. Hyper is an understatement! Not to mention I am moving to a new school next year and my entire classroom has to be packed up by Friday! Needless to say, my students are helping. Hey, at least I am putting all of their energy to good use, and they LOVE helping. I have a hard time finding jobs for all of them!

On a side note, when did kids stop liking movies? I hardly EVER show a movie in class. It is a rare treat. Today, was a rare treat kind of day (hey, grades are due tomorrow, I am not grading anything else!) During the movie, I had more questions about when we were having recess, or if they could play on the computer. I only had two people who were really interested in the movie! I mean really!

Anyway, we are also in the process of trying to rent out our house. We have had two people come through so far, so we will see what happens. I hope it rents soon so we can start building our house. I would love to be in our house for Patrick's first birthday but we will see!

Michael's birthday is on Friday, and he is leaving on Sunday for two weeks! Ahhh, such a busy time. At least school is OVER for the summer next Friday. I plan on working on my tan as it is my first summer without a JOB (unless you count teaching for college, but I don't since it's online and I can do it from my house!).

Tomorrow is Patrick's two month appointment so I will be sure to be back with updates then. He has four shots to get so pray for me...I am sure he will do fine! :)

2 Months

My little munchkin is two months old today! I cannot believe how fast time has flown. It feels like yesterday I was terrified to leave the hospital because I felt like I had no idea what I was doing. Now I feel like a professional changing diapers and figuring out what his little noises mean.
Finally got a smile after sleepy head would not cooperate this morning!Lifting his head! What a big boy!
Nana using her props during a photo shoot!

Dear Patrick,

I am so sad that you are already two months old! You are growing more and more everyday and I wish I could just freeze you in this moment. On the other hand, I love how you are changing everyday. You are starting to make more noises and we have 'conversations' back and forth. You are starting to smile on cue and it is the cutest thing in the world. Even though you smile a lot for Mommy, you think Daddy's faces are pretty funny too. You have also started to track more objects and turn when you hear noises, trying to figure out what they are and where they are coming from. You love the ceiling fan in your room and any kind of lights. You just stare and take everything in. Your neck has always been very strong, but now you are starting to push up on your arms and life your head much better when you are on your tummy. You do a great job at Nana's doing this, but I have yet to see it!

You are still a very content baby, although you are starting to get more vocal about what you want. For instance, if you don't like laying in one position you will grunt until we move you a different way...then you are good to go! You still love your swing and can lay on your playmate for awhile too.

After a small setback of sleeping in the swing, I have you back in your crib! Everytime you laid flat on your back your would spit up which would then wake you up. We had some very long nights. When I went back to work I didn't have the energy to try to get you back to sleep in your crib, so I just let you sleep in the swing. Daddy and I finally ordered a wedge to put in your crib so your head is a little elevated. This has done wonders and you are sleeping very good in your crib - no spit up at all! Last night you even slept for a 6 hour stretch! I was so happy! Normally you sleep for 4 to 5 hours, and then every two to three hours after that. I am hoping the 6 hours continue though!

You are in size 1 diapers and size 0 to 3 month clothing. You keep getting bigger and bigger so I am sure it's only a matter of time before you grow out of those too. I am not quite sure how much you weigh now, but my best guess is 11 to 12 pounds. I weighed myself and then held you, but we will know for sure next Thursday when we visit the Doctor for your check up.

You are still drinking strictly breast milk and this gives me a sense of pride knowing that I am getting you bigger and stronger! I am not quite sure how much you drink everyday, but when you go to Nana while I work you drink around 11 ounces from 8 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon. My best guess is probably around 24 ounces a day. I still always worry if this is enough but you have plenty of soiled diapers so I am sure you are fine.

I love seeing you grow and change everyday. I can't wait to see what you start to do in the next month. Daddy and I love you very, very much.

Love,
Mommy
