FINALLY Sunny!

I can stop building my arc now! It rained for two straight days - I don't think it ever stopped. How depressing on my Spring Break. But now it's over. It is sunny and gorgeous out! I got up this morning and ran 3 miles in 27 minutes, not bad if I do say so myself! Coach Dubis has also given me some great suggestions for what I can do on those rainy days, even those days when I take a break from running!

I also met up with the rest of the 4th grade team to get in a bowling practice. We went a month ago and had so much fun that we challenged the rest of the school to get teams together and play us! We practiced today, and we play everyone else next week. Wish us luck. If nothing else, we have a great time and laugh our as**s off!

I also planted some more flowers today and weeded my garden so I am ready to mulch it when it comes time. I love Spring Days!

Michael and the rest of the troops received a visitor yesterday. Senator Kauffman from Delaware, and another senator from Rhode Island visited their base. He sent me a picture which I will have to upload later. Only 65 days until R and R!

That's great. 3 miles in 27 minutes that's impressive. During these huge races like the Army 10 miler you have to use up a lot of energy just getting around people at the start. I think it's great you have something to work towards to keep you occupied.

Another bit of advice. Since you'll be running 10 miles you want to take care of your feet. Make sure you are wearing a good pair of socks. The best are socks that don't have cotton in them since they don't really get rid of the sweat very well. Check out www.pearlizumi.com. They have good quality stuff for running. Socks, shorts and tops. Plus I get 40% off everything on the website which makes all the overpriced stuff on there reasonable.

What would I do without you Dubis? I bought some Under Armour socks because I read that about cotton socks. They seem to be working well. I will definitely check out that website though!
