Friday marked the LAST day of school for our students! As much as these kids drove me crazy this year, I am going to miss them a little. I have to say, I am so glad I had maternity leave because I just don't think I could have made it all year with them. There were a few that really tried my patience and made me question how I was going to get through the year. Ah well, I guess every teacher has those students right? Even though school isn't even out for teachers yet, I am finding myself looking forward to next year. The 47 boxes I have packed for the new school have been moved out of my room and will be moved to my new school this week. It is so exciting to see the wonderful technology and nice clean and new classroom. I. Love. It. I can't wait to start unpacking and making it my classroom! Check in when I am halfway through those 47 boxes, I may have changed my mind! :)
Friday also marked the first time Patrick was in the pool! My parents opened their pool the week after Memorial Day this year. Since my only job this summer is to get a tan, I decided to start on Friday since it has been GORGEOUS out. The pool is already 86 degrees. The black cover probably helped that! Patrick was taking a nap when we got there, so I went in and let little man sleep. A little while later he was awake and Mom brought him out in just his diaper and cute little hat. He wasn't a big fan for the first 30 seconds, but then he loved it. He went in again today and didn't cry at all. Of course all of the picture are on my Mom's camera. I will get them tomorrow hopefully and get them posted. She took some really good ones!
Saturday was the first time someone said Patrick looks just like his Momma! YAY! Everyone that sees him says he looks just like his Dad. I seriously couldn't tell you. Michael thinks he has my eyes. I think we have to wait until he is a little bigger. We returned a power washer to a friend and got a chance to introduce them to Patrick. Right away, our friend said he has Michael's nose but everything else looks like me. I am still skeptical, but I'll take it!
Last night, Patrick slept from 10:00 pm until 5:00 this morning, making it the first time he slept through the night. Personally, sleeping through the night to me means until at least 7:00am, but according to BabyCenter.com it means from 11:00 until 5:00. Either way, I will take it! I was able to feed him at 5:00, play a little bit, and then go back down from 6:45 until 9:00. Have I mentioned what a good baby he is? We are spoiled!
Today, Michael left for his last two weeks of school for his Captain's Career Course, marking the first time he has had to leave Patrick overnight. I feel bad for him :( It's always hard to be away from home regardless and now with little man, I'm sure it's even harder. I know I wouldn't be able to do it! Of course, two weeks is always better than a year in Iraq :) Here's to hoping the two weeks goes by fast!
